The Walk of Our Humanity
We were born
Not of this World
but to be a gift
A gift of light
to bring truth to our existence
to spaces of darkness
So we can see
the light of our Connectedness
Each soul
Given the right
by God's grace
to live out our
Destiny, Calling and Purpose
The Walk of Our Humanity
began
On the continent of Africa
Evolution blossomed the
Diaspora of people
All across the globe
All people
Longing
to be Safe
Free
Born to our own
Dignity
Born of faith and love
Carrying these through the
Emancipation of the Womb
to the Manifestation of our
Greatness
Hear, my fellow citizens, the Call
the Loud and the Whisper
of men and woman who
Answered and Answer the call
The call for Justice
Justice delivered by those in organized uniforms
and those who created a brand and a uniform
titled Courage
Uniting humanity towards an
Ideal
Seeking a Soul
That which delivers
Truth
For, we cannot get to Our Truth
without
Grasping and Grappling with pain
Lies
False narratives
Pre-determined mis-education
with the Intention
of Leveling Dignity
Creating shame
Sustaining Hate
and
Masking Us
Masking
So the Light cannot reach
therefore cannot bleach out
the psychology of
Where one holds power over another
This Walk
Requires us to
Unveil
To shed old skin
Like the lobster rubbing against a hard rock
Until the shell is old skin
Our skin is still
fear, selfishness, unconsciousness, self-righteousness, privilege, envy,
choosing not to learn, and choosing to accept less
Less than our humanity
Less than our faith
Your soul follows
Light
